Henry A. Chapin House

Henry A. Chapin House, also known as Chapin Mansion,〔(Chapinmansion.org )〕 is a historic house in Niles, Michigan. It was listed as a Michigan State Historic Site in 1976, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.〔
The house is three stories tall built with red brick in Queen Anne style〔 of which only the first two are currently in use; the third floor ballroom is not open to the public.
It currently contains the Fort St. Joseph Museum and served as the Niles City Hall from a point between 1933 and 1937 until December 7, 2012. In May 2013, the mansion and museum were given the name "Niles History Center" and opened to the public.
==Fort St. Joseph Museum==
The museum is located in the carriage house of the Chapin Mansion and focuses on the city's history. Exhibits include Fort St. Joseph, built by the French as a trading post in 1691, the Underground Railroad in southern Michigan, area railroads and artifacts of the Lakota people.
